Upload rules
- Formats: PNG, JPEG, and WebP.
- Size limit: 10 MB per file. Larger files fail with an error — export smaller and retry.
- Processing: Tabern compresses and sizes uploads automatically; no manual optimization needed.
- Where: uploads happen in-context — hero, gallery, menu item, deal, rewards card — with no separate library step.
Recommendations by slot
- Hero backgrounds — landscape, high quality; these are your largest visible images.
- Logo — square with transparent background (PNG).
- Menu item photos — square crops read best in the menu grid.
- Deal images — landscape, food-forward.
- Rewards card — follow the live preview; the punch card and Wallet pass show exactly what members see.
- Favicon — square; the browser scales it down to tab size.
Deletion behavior
Tabern keeps content consistent when media goes away. When an uploaded image is deleted, references to it are removed automatically: it stops being used as a hero background, logo, story-gallery image, About image, deal image, or menu-item photo — whichever apply. Your text content is untouched; only the missing image slot empties.
Storage
Venue media is stored by Tabern on the platform's storage — you don't manage files, paths, or backups. Deleting a venue removes its media with it; see My websites.
