Customers → Notifications is where you reach members who saved your rewards card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. From here you can send a message to iPhone members, check what each member was sent, and set up reminders that bring the pass up near your venue.
Pass holders
The list shows every member with a saved Wallet pass, 25 per page. Use Search pass holders to find someone, and the column controls to choose what the table shows.
- Member: name and email, with an Apple or Google icon for each wallet they use.
- Devices: how many Apple devices have the pass installed.
- Last notified: the date of the last notification, with the message underneath.
- Status: the member’s rewards status, Active, Paused, or Unsubscribed.
Members who remove the pass from their wallet drop off this list.
Send a message
Custom messages go to members with an Apple Wallet pass. The message shows on their iPhone lock screen when the pass updates (iOS 16.4 or later). Google Wallet doesn’t support custom messages.
Click the bell in a member's row. To message several people, tick their checkboxes and click Notify Selected instead.
Write your message, up to 256 characters, for example “Stop by this weekend for a free drink on us!”
Click Send Notification. Selected members without an Apple Wallet pass are skipped.
To message all the Apple Wallet holders shown in the list at once, click Apple Wallet in the page header, then Notify Apple Holders.
Notification history
Click the history icon in a member’s row to see their Sent notifications: each message, the date, and how many devices received it. Automatic “Your rewards card was updated” alerts from check-ins appear here too.
Location reminders
Each wallet has its own setting, both opened from the page header:
- Apple Wallet → Location alerts: when a member with a saved pass is near a selected location, their iPhone shows the pass on the lock screen with a short message.
- Google Wallet → Nearby notifications: Google may remind members when they approach a selected location.
In Hours & Location, edit each location and enter its Latitude and Longitude. Tabern doesn't look these up from the address, so copy them from a map app.
Back in Notifications, click Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in the page header.
Turn on Location alerts (Apple) or Nearby notifications (Google).
Select up to 10 locations. Locations without coordinates show Coordinates needed and can't be selected.
Click Save Settings. Installed passes update automatically.
