A kiosk is a dedicated screen at your venue. Tabern has two kinds: a rewards scanner for staff at the counter, and a menu display that shows your published menu full-screen. Create both from the same Kiosks page.
Create a kiosk
Open the Kiosks page from the dashboard sidebar.
Click the create control and pick the kiosk type — Rewards Scanner or Menu display.
Give it a name — Front Counter, Bar Display — so staff can tell them apart.
For a Rewards Scanner, set its 6-digit PIN. Each scanner kiosk gets a unique PIN.
Save — the kiosk appears on the connected-kiosks grid.
Rewards Scanner kiosks
- Staff unlock the scanner screen with the PIN. Five wrong attempts lock it for 15 minutes.
- After unlock, the kiosk stays usable for an 8-hour session — no re-entering the PIN between check-ins.

Menu display kiosks
The menu display rotates through your published menu full-screen — ambient signage for a wall or window. No PIN; it's read-only for guests. Open the kiosk's display settings to configure:
- Show/hide the header — your venue logo and name at the top.
- Category visibility — which menu sections appear.
- Fixed menu — lock the display to one menu instead of all published menus.
The display opens at its public URL and only works while the kiosk is enabled and your site is published on the venue's subdomain.
Manage kiosks
The connected-kiosks grid lists every kiosk with its type and status:
- Open display — jump straight to the kiosk's screen URL.
- Enable / Disable — a disabled kiosk is locked out immediately; disabled is also required before delete.
- Reset PIN — scanner kiosks only; the new PIN applies at next unlock.
- Delete — permanent; only available while the kiosk is disabled.
Tips
- The menu display shows your published menu. Publish menu changes for them to appear.
- Mount the scanner where staff, not guests, can reach it. It unlocks with your PIN.
- One display per screen: open each kiosk's URL on its own dedicated device.
