The Overview page
The Overview page is your venue's analytics home. At the top, four numbers:
- Total Views — every page view in the selected range.
- Unique Visitors — roughly how many people, not page loads.
- Menu Views — views of your menu content.
- Booking Views — views of your booking page.
Below the numbers, a chart of views over time. Use the date controls to pick a range, and group results by day, week, or month. Reset returns to the default range.
Changing the range
Open Overview from the dashboard sidebar.
Click the date range control.
Pick a preset or set a custom start and end.
Switch Daily / Weekly / Monthly to change the chart grouping.
Click Reset to return to the default view.
How counting works
Tabern records a page view every time a guest who accepted the site's cookie banner loads a page on your published site — guests who decline aren't counted. "Unique visitors" is an approximate people-count based on an anonymous session marker — it is not an account sign-in and it can't identify anyone. Exact definitions live in Analytics definitions.
What analytics is not
- No tracking cookies — the anonymous session marker lives in browser session storage, not cookies.
- Consent-gated — analytics only runs for guests who accept the site's cookie banner; guests who decline aren't counted.
- No cross-site tracking, ad profiles, or data selling.
- No conversions, revenue, or funnel tracking — pair with your booking provider's reports for those.
Reading the numbers
- Views up, visitors flat — regulars are browsing deeper. Good sign.
- Menu views high, booking views low — guests are interested but not reserving. Check your booking page intro.
- Spikes — match them against deals you ran (Deals & promos) or social posts to learn what drives traffic.
