Drafts versus published
Every edit you make — sections, menu, deals, hours — saves as a draft. Guests keep seeing the last published version until you hit Publish. This is the core model: your live site can never be broken by a half-finished draft, because what's public is a complete snapshot, not your work in progress.
Publish
Finish your edits and review the preview.
Click Publish in the header of the page you changed.
Confirm — Tabern snapshots the site and puts it live on your subdomain.
Each page publishes its own content: publishing the Menu puts your menu live but doesn't republish your About story, and vice versa. There's no "publish everything" step to remember.
Unpublish
Take your site offline with Unpublish (Website page header). Your dashboard and drafts stay intact, so publish again whenever you're ready. Guests see an unavailable site instead of your content.
Fixing a mistake
There's no rollback button in the dashboard today. To fix an unwanted published change: edit the content back to what you want, then publish again. Since drafts are untouched by publishing, your working copy is exactly what you last saved.
Subscription effects
- Cancel — your site stays live until the end of the billing period, then goes offline. See Billing & subscription.
- Payment failure — Stripe retries; your site keeps publishing during the grace window.
- New venue creation — requires an active (or trialing) subscription; existing sites are more lenient.
