A Tabern rewards program is a digital punch card. Guests join from your public rewards page with just their email, earn a stamp per approved check-in, and unlock a reward at each milestone you set. One program per venue, 1 to 12 milestones.
Create a program
Creation is a two-step wizard:
Open the Rewards page from the dashboard sidebar — if you have no program yet, the Create a rewards card wizard starts.
Step 1: give the card a title and upload the card logo and background. A live punch-card preview follows along.
Step 2: add milestone rules — for example, a reward at visits 3, 6, and 10 — and pick each reward: a percentage off, a fixed amount, or a specific menu item.
Save, then Publish to take the program live.
Milestone rules:
- Milestones are unique visit counts between 1 and 12 — no two milestones can share the same visit count.
- Reward types: percent off (up to 100%), a fixed amount, or a specific active menu item from your venue.
- Your cycle length is your highest milestone — after the top milestone, a member's progress starts the cycle over.
The member card
Under Card details, style the card members see on your rewards page: title, card logo, background, and up to five reward header images. The live punch-card preview shows exactly what members see.
Check-ins and redemption
Members earn stamps via approved scanner check-ins. When a member checks in, any reward they already earned gets redeemed, then the new visit counts toward the next milestone. A reward earned by today's visit is available from the member's next approved check-in. Full rules in Rewards model.
Pause, resume, or delete
- Pause card — stops check-ins without losing member progress. Good for seasonal breaks. Resume when ready.
- Edit — change card details or rules anytime. Existing members keep their progress; installed Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes update automatically.
- Delete card — permanent. Typing DELETE confirms. Members lose their currently available rewards; earned history is not recoverable, and the rewards page goes offline.
Tips
- Set up a Rewards Scanner kiosk before launching the program — check-ins are how members earn.
- Start simple: one milestone at 5 visits is easier to explain than five tiers.
- Style the Wallet pass to match your brand — members can carry it in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
