Tabern doesn’t take reservations or orders itself; it connects your site to the apps you already use. Link a reservation app and your delivery stores in Settings → Integrations, and your booking page sends guests to the right place.
Supported apps
Reservations (one at a time):
- OpenTable: enter your Restaurant ID (RID). Guests book in an OpenTable widget right on your booking page.
- Resy: enter your Venue ID and API Key. Guests get a Book with Resy button that opens Resy’s booking window in a new tab.
- Toast: paste your Reservation Link. Guests get a Book with Toast button.
- Square: paste your Square Appointments booking link. Guests get a Book with Square button. This is a booking link only; Tabern doesn’t connect to Square’s point of sale or import your catalog.
Delivery and ordering (connect either or both):
- DoorDash: paste your DoorDash store or order.online link.
- Uber Eats: paste your Uber Eats store link.
Google Business Profile is in the same list but works differently: you sign in with Google instead of pasting a link. See Google Business Profile.
Connect an app
Open Integrations under Settings in the dashboard sidebar.
Under Connect an app, choose your app in Select Integration App and click Continue to details.
Enter what the form asks for: a Restaurant ID for OpenTable, a Venue ID and API Key for Resy, or a link for the others. Each field shows an example.
Click Connect integration (or Switch integration if you are replacing details for the same app).
The app appears as a Connected card, and Tabern publishes your site so the change goes live.
One reservation app at a time
You can connect one reservation app. Connecting a different one, say Resy while OpenTable is connected, replaces the old one. DoorDash and Uber Eats are separate, so they can sit alongside your reservation app.
What guests see
- Booking page: the OpenTable widget, or a Book with Resy, Book with Toast, or Book with Square button.
- Ordering buttons: Order on DoorDash and Order on Uber Eats buttons on the booking page, below your reservation option when you have one.
- Site navigation: the main button on your site reads Book a Table. If you only have ordering links and no reservation app, it reads Order Online and jumps to the ordering buttons.
- Nothing connected: guests see “Online booking isn’t available yet” with a prompt to call or send you a message.
Edit or remove an app
Connected apps show as cards below the form, with the last four characters of the saved ID or link.
- Edit: click the pencil icon, enter the new details, and click Save changes. The fields start empty, so fill in all of them; for Resy, enter both the Venue ID and the API Key again.
- Remove: click the trash icon, then Remove? to confirm.
Booking page intro
Under My Website, open the Reservations section and write a Page Intro: anything guests should know before booking, like party-size limits or a call-ahead policy. It appears under the booking page title. Intro changes go live when you publish. See Pages & sections.
Tips
- Test your booking page after connecting. Click through to your app once before guests do.
- For DoorDash and Uber Eats, paste the link to your own store page, the one guests order from.
- Changed your account with a provider, such as a new restaurant ID or a moved booking page? Update the card here too. See Managing bookings.
