Unlock the scanner
Open the scanner kiosk screen on the tablet.
Enter your venue's 6-digit kiosk PIN.
The scanner opens — it stays unlocked for an 8-hour session, so once at shift start is enough.
Check a member in
Ask the member for their card — phone browser, Apple Wallet, or Google Wallet all work.
Scan their QR code with the tablet camera, or tap manual entry and type their 8-character member code.
Review the member the screen shows — name, visit count, available rewards.
Approve the check-in. The screen shows the result: progress and any reward redeemed.
Hand the tablet back or scan the next member.
Reading results
- Visit recorded — the member's count went up; the card's new progress shows.
- Reward redeemed — a reward the member already had available was applied to this visit, then the new visit counted.
- Reward earned — the member just reached a milestone. That reward is available from their next approved visit, not this one.
- Denied — you chose not to approve, or the member isn't eligible (paused member). Denied attempts are recorded in history.
Troubleshooting at the counter
- Camera won't start — check the browser's camera permission for the kiosk screen, then retry. Manual code entry always works as a fallback.
- Member code won't scan — glare and cracked screen protectors are the usual suspects; use manual entry.
- Member not found — they may be looking at the wrong venue's card, or were deleted. Have them join again from your site's Rewards page.
- Kiosk locked out — wait out the 15-minute lock or have an owner reset the PIN.
Check-in history
The scanner keeps a visible history of check-ins on the kiosk. For the full member view — every visit, reward, and status change — owners use the Members page in the dashboard.
